I decided to refresh my training. Every now and again I like to try something different, even if its just using a different setting on the cross trainer. So last week I incorporated some rowing into my training sessions. The day after each session I felt some discomfort in my back, I looked at my daily activity to try to establish what could be causing the pain. I didn’t think for a minute it was my training. I had enjoyed using the rowing machine knowing it was a great aerobic workout conditioning my upper and lower body.
As much as I had enjoyed it I now know it’s not the right exercise for me. It is important to listen to your body and be prepared to adapt your training to prevent or recover from injury.
